January: When Everyone’s Old Electronics Come Due

Christmas creates a specific problem. New TV, laptop, tablet, or phone arrives. The old one is suddenly in the way, and there’s nowhere easy to put it.

This is why January is consistently the highest-volume month for electronics disposal.

The January Window for Space-Clearing Resolutions

Junk removal and January resolutions are a natural pairing. Creating a home gym means something else goes out first. The “get organized” resolution usually starts with a garage or storage room. “Simplify” often begins with a sofa that’s been replaced but not removed.

The first two weeks of January have more open slots than mid-month. By the time most people act on a resolution (around January 10–14), availability gets tighter. Book before New Year’s if you have a specific date in mind.

Electronics go to certified e-waste processors where accepted. We don’t put electronics in general landfill. Items that still have useful life are evaluated for donation through local partners when possible, though functional electronics aren’t always accepted depending on age and condition.

Yes. Earlier in the month is better. January call volume picks up faster than most people expect. Early January tends to have good availability; the last two weeks before tax season fill quickly. If you have a specific date in mind, call early in the month.
Yes. Artificial trees, light strings, broken ornaments, holiday inflatables, and decoration storage bins all go. Real trees can go through municipal yard waste programs or we can haul them for a small additional charge if they're part of a larger cleanout.

Yes. Full-home cleanouts run the same in January as any other month. We walk the house, quote the full scope, you approve, and we clear it in one visit. January is actually a good month for whole-home cleanouts because crews have more scheduling flexibility than in the peak spring and summer months.
