Why TVs Are Harder to Dispose of Than Most People Expect

Old televisions, especially CRTs, contain lead and cadmium. That's why NC law prohibits them from regular solid waste disposal.

Tube TVs from the 90s and early 2000s. Contain 4–8 lbs of lead. Cannot go to landfill. Routed to certified e-waste handlers where accepted.

More manageable, but still not accepted at most landfills or transfer stations in NC. Recycled where accepted.
